Our psychologists and licensed mental health counselors are skilled at working with clients across the life span, from children to adolescents to adults. We have two main speciality areas: school-age mental health of children and adolescents, including learning, social, emotional, and behavioral issues and perinatal and postpartum mental health, including birth trauma and pregnancy loss.
Captree Psychological Services, P.C. is owned by Michelle D. Cangelosi, Psy.D. Dr. Cangelosi has over 10 years of experience working in school, private practice, and research settings. Dr. Cangelosi earned a doctoral degree in School Psychology from St. John's University and is a licensed psychologist and a certified school psychologist. She also holds certifications as a certified clinical trauma professional and a certified grief counseling specialist. Dr. Cangelosi is a member of the Suffolk County Psychological Association (SCPA) and a past member of the New York Association of School Psychologists (NYASP) and the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP).
Dr. Cangelosi specializes in working with clients during times of major life transitions (adolescence, emerging adulthood, and the perinatal and postpartum period), particularly when these transitions have been challenging or traumatic. Dr. Cangelosi currently works primarily with adult clients who need support with postpartum mental health, pregnancy loss, or birth trauma.
